COMMON GAFFRIG FAQ'S
How do I know what size gauges I have?
- You will want to measure the back housing of the gauge or the actual slot on your dash once the gauge is removed.
I want to switch my liquid filled speedometer with a new GPS speedometer, what is the process?
- First step is to measure the size of your current gauge. Most times than not it will be smaller than the GPS, but don't be alarmed we have some solutions! If you have a 3 3/4 inch speedometer, you will want to look at the 3 3/8 inch GPS. Along with that it is recommended to check out part #8200 or #8275 - these bezels will not only brighten up your dash but also take away any remaining space between the slot and the gauge to keep it secured.
- If your liquid filled speedometer measures 4 inches or larger please look at the 4 5/8 inch GPS. Additionally, it is recommended to check out part #8650 - this bezel will help hold the gauge in place with any left over space. Once ordered you will receive instructions for installation as well as for the receiver.
Do you repair gauges?
- Unfortunately we do not fix/refurbish any products. In certain instances we are able to test gauges or senders, but it is not guaranteed we will be able to find an exact diagnosis on what/why something isn't working.
How do I know what sender I should be buying if I'm not replacing the gauge?
- If it is a pressure gauge, you must match up the PSI of the gauge to the sender - ex. An 80 psi oil pressure gauge must get an 80 psi oil pressure sender. For all other gauges, besides our 2 5/8 inch racing series line, you will need to know your NPT (national pipe thread) in order to get the right size. We offer 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch NPT
- *If you are replacing a sender to a NON Gaffrig gauge, it is strongly recommended to get a new gauge as well. There is a possibility the sender will not work with the gauge as our senders are designed for our gauges specifically.
I need to order a fuel level sender and need it cut + calibrated. How do I order it to my needs?
- Pick the sender that works best for your tank size. When you find the right size, select the drop down and click yes. Proceed by typing in the size you need cut down and we will do that for you in house as well as calibrate it to the empty scale so it is ready to use on arrival!
What do the throttle configurations mean?
- When choosing your handles - shift or throttle - for 2 or more handles you will start by choosing which you prefer to be closer to the body. Ex. ST(shift, throttle) - Smaller shift handle will be closest, TS(throttle, shift) - Larger throttle handle will be closest.
- When choosing Hand and Cant (for 1-6 handle controls) - Hand - you are picking which side the control will be sitting on the boat. Using with your right hand or your left hand. - Cant - You are picking which direction the handles will tilt (Forward or Rear) as there is a slight bend in the handles.
